Elect Micah Rousey

Originally from California, my wife and I moved our family of four (two children, 8 and 6) to Avon, CT in September of 2021 after living in rural Missouri for 7 years and watching the politics there change for the worse.

For nearly my entire residency in Avon, I've served on the Avon Democratic Town Committee, the Avon Water Pollution Control Authority, and the Building Code Board of Appeals, and was a Delegate for Avon at the State Democratic Caucus.

I have served as a Board of Trustees Member for a California Community College, University of Missouri County Extension Council for Ste. Genevieve, and was a Missouri Delegate for Joe Biden in 2020.

My professional career started as an accountant for a major bank, eventually writing accounting software, and I now manage software and data projects for a healthcare analytics company. I am a certified Project Manager, and have been in charge of project budgets in the hundreds of millions of dollars.

I hold a Bachelors of Science degree in Business Information Systems, and an MBA with a concentration in Information Technology Management.

I have lobbied local, State, and Federal officials for lower tuition at State funded colleges, increased funding for child healthcare, lower regressive taxation, support of Unions, and greater governmental outreach.
