Elect Chelsea Ross

Born and raised in Connecticut, Chelsea and her husband Matt made the decision to settle in Avon in 2012, a town they now proudly call home. As they began building their family, their love grew to include two delightful kids and two lovable dogs, creating a bustling household filled with dirt, joy, and laughter.

Service has always been at the core of Chelsea’s identity. Earlier this year, she took on her first formal role in Avon, stepping into the shoes of a previous member on the Board of Assessment Appeals. Embracing this responsibility, she endeavored to make a positive impact on local policies and decisions that shape the community.

Currently, Chelsea serves as the Executive Director of a statewide nonprofit organization where her passion and dedication are channeled towards promoting equitable change in Connecticut's housing policy. Throughout her career, Chelsea has focused on one of society's most pressing challenges - affordable housing and homelessness in Connecticut and New England. Chelsea’s work is centered in facilitating, nurturing, and leveraging relationships with and among people to improve our collective quality of life.

Chelsea is actively involved in making a difference by serving on the board of directors for Girls on the Run Greater Hartford and The Community Child Guidance Clinic and was recently nominated by Governor Lamont to serve on the board of the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority.

A proud graduate of the UConn School of Public Policy, she holds a Master's in Public Administration and a Certificate in Nonprofit Management, and a Bachelor of Social Work from Western Connecticut State University.
