Elect Chris Campbell

My name is Chris Campbell and I am a candidate running for the Board of Education. I understand that this role can be both challenging and incredibly rewarding. I am truly honored at the prospect of serving alongside such exceptional candidates and the current members of the Board of Education. It's a privilege that I deeply appreciate.

As an active steering committee member of Avon Friends for Equity, I have had the valuable opportunity to engage with our Superintendent and other faculty members to address important issues. Moreover, I proudly served on the hiring committee that selected Tasonn Haynes, who now holds the role of Diversity & Inclusion coordinator for APS. These experiences have fueled my passion for promoting equity and inclusion in education, and I am eager to further contribute my expertise as a member of the policy subcommittee for the Board of Education.

My wife and our three sons have lived in Avon since 2019.  In the past  three years I actively engaged in our community, particularly in promoting equity within the school district. Currently, I serve on the steering committee of Avon Friends for Equity. This role allows me to connect with the Avon community through student-focused events. I have pioneered a play group for students and parents of Avon (both living in Avon & Hartford) to serve as a safe space to meet others and a way to just unwind and have fun! I have been a stay at home Dad for the past five years, prior to that I was in sales for over a decade.
